Witbier (English: wheat beer) is a cloudy, blonde style of beer. The top-fermenting beer is brewed with barley malt and wheat, which gives it a somewhat thicker mouthfeel and a very slight acidity in the aftertaste. In the Netherlands, we mainly know Belgian white beer along the lines of Hoegaarden.
