Bock au Vin Madeleine - Oedipus tasting (Beer Dudes Offline)

Bock au Vin Madeleine - Oedipus tasting (Beer Dudes Offline)

October is bock beer month. Very traditional. Of course, we stopped abiding by that a long time ago. Otherwise there would be no spring bock either. And the bocks are already in stores at the same time as the pepernoten. Anyway, Beer Dudes celebrates bock beer together with Oedipus Brewing from Amsterdam. On Saturday, Oct. 8, Oedipus is coming to Beer Dudes Offline. With Madeleine. Oedipus Bock Beer. On tap and through the stovetop. Because bock beer is also excellent for cooking. A bock beer tasting!

Beer with a story

Beer is experience, and with experience comes a good story. So what exactly is bock beer? The rules are very free these days. Besides a certain thickness that the wort (the mixture of beer ingredients the brewer is left with after boiling water, malt and hops) must have, everything is as free as love in the summer of 1967. Pretty confusing. But we find something to that. On Oct. 8, the head brewer of Oedipus will explain in great detail what makes a bock beer a bock beer and why Madeleine tastes the way it does. A story to go with your beer. Experience!

More story: tasting for a good cause

You can come taste Madeleine for free. By the stovetop. To really make the story a good one, there's a jar. Somewhere in the store. In it you can drop a donation. In gratitude for the free Madeleine or something. You don't have to but you can. The proceeds of the bock beer tasting go to the Foundation Together RKC, to get movement and encounters done for Waalwijkers for whom that is otherwise not obvious. While drinking, we also have a kind of social function, right? A good cause, in other words. Again, to contribute to the story of the beer. And of the event.

Even more story: DIY

You may want to make more story. At home, on the day after the event or something. With bock beer, of course. You might decide to use a few bottles for an experiment in your own freezer. To start eisbocking bock beer. The results will amaze you. Here you can read how to make your own eisbock. You see: stories galore!

Being and experiencing

Next to the entrance of Beer Dudes Offline on Saturday, Sept. 8, there will be a bar of Oedipus. So with beer from Oedipus. Life is delightfully uncomplicated sometimes. Want to look even further? You can! In the beer store itself, there is much more. More of Oedipus, more different bock beers and also a lot of other beers that don't fall into either of the above two categories. Just, veul. Plenty and delicious. Above all, have fun. As long as you're there!
