Westmalle launched its first tripel in 1935. So the beer style is not as old as labels sometimes lead you to believe. A tripel beer is usually golden yellow in color and often tastes bitter with typical notes of some banana or other yellow fruit and spiciness in the background. Tripels have lots of carbonation and a full, bitter and dry finish.
